Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation Aquarius. Its name is Latin for ?water-carrier? or ?cup-carrier?, and its symbol is a representation of water.
Since it?s associated with water, I gave the cup holder tentacles. Also, it resembles a grim reaper, with a very visible skull, ribcage and arm bones. It?s done completely in my dark, macabre, goth style and it?s the second Zodiac sign in my Zodiac/Horoscope collection. Maybe they?ll all have tentacles, who knows?
Aquarius is identified as GU.LA ?The Great One? in the Babylonian star catalogs and represents the god Ea himself, who is commonly depicted holding an overflowing vase.
In Greek mythology, Aquarius is sometimes associated with Deucalion, the son of Prometheus who built a ship with his wife Pyrrha to survive an imminent flood. They sailed for nine days before washing ashore on Mount Parnassus.
Aquarius is also sometimes identified with beautiful Ganymede, a youth in Greek mythology and the son of Trojan king Tros, who was taken to Mount Olympus by Zeus (who either sent or transformed himself into an eagle and fly away with the boy) to act as cup-carrier to the gods.
