@PaulSoFresh, here here!
@amaskell12 sorry that the WB rejected you.
@amaskell12 “I thought this whole process was to encourage ORIGINAL ideas, not steal copyrighted images and play with filters in Photoshop.” Sooooo agree with you, I know many, as I have, created really stellar designs that they put their heart into and for what?...
@PaulSoFresh I’ve been following some of your comments and I’m in the exact same boat as you. I thought this whole process was to encourage ORIGINAL ideas, not steal copyrighted images and play with filters in photoshop. I created an original design that I thought was very fitting to the movie and was effective, WB apparently felt otherwise. It’s really sad that their intentions were not clear from the beginning. Very disappointing when you put all that time into your design.
It does smell! @wotto stated “WB made a decision to only offer a logo because they wanted artists to provide their own interpretation of the characters. If they wanted photo manipulated WB owned images they could have done that without teaming up with DBH”. I feel that DBH/WB have been dishonest to the ‘true’ design community/fan base, because they are letting people submit copyright material. It’s so unfair to all the designers and fans that put in weeks and days of work into their orginal pieces – only to get rejected for no clear reason. If anybody has violated the rules and regulations – it’s DBH/WB for allowing copycats to submit their work and get approved!
To me all of this smells pretty bad…so many rejections with great ones.
