I wanted to bring an element of a traditional pirates shirt, so they are stripes. It could be done without them if preferred too. Thanks for your support =)
Ahhhhhh see…. i never would have even thought of that. Thats the good thing about being able to talk to the artists here at DBH. You get to learn all the details about their designs if you ask them.
This is a miss for me. I don’t care for the bird and the pirate clothes and hair both being brown. Maybe replace that brown bird with a sun or moon. Maybe change the pirate jacket to a red. More seperation bewteen the clothes annd the hair.
Like the stripes and the clouds/crest of the water rising up.

Thanks for the input. I can perhaps see what you are saying about the hair and jacket, and the reason I didn’t detail the jacket and hair more is because I believe art is greatly subjective, it’s either a hit or miss but doesn’t have to be 100% perfect.
The reason I had the sparrow is to illustrate the concept that the pirate is drunk and spends much of his time swatting at birds on the bow of his ship after all this is a Pirates Life!
