Surfing, Art, Ocean, Hawaii, Family, Friends, Sun Sets, Turtles, Snorkeling, LIFE. Acrylic, Paint Markers. I am an artist and surfer from the Big Island of Hawaii. I surround my self with everything about the ocean, positive living, and hard work. I graduated from Florida Southern College as a Bachelor of Science, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I have worked for several design companies, and have had several year of professional design, but live to paint and surf. I am on a journey of life to live for what I love and work as hard as I can, and drive myself to achieve all I set out to do. My heart goes into all I do, especially my family, surfing, and painting. My work can best be described as bright, abstract, and relating to the human body through various forms of energy. These energies are displayed through patterns of connected lines that fall where there comfortable in my work, I never force a line or a concept. I just let it happen as it comes, or as my paintbrush/ paint marker find the grain on the canvas. I always refrence the ocean, water, or some form of waves, consistently through out my work. I use my daily emotions, or my daily struggles/ achievements to relay a message to my viewers on canvas. I encourage people to draw their own feelings, energies, and conclusions from my work before I describe what my work displays. Hawaii and my faith is the staple of my work and everything I do.

About the Submission

I did this painting after being visited in the water daily by a turtle when out surfing. I see them EVERYWHERE. There so curious and adoriable! I couldn't help but be inspired and excited when I see one. They come right up to you, pop there sweet heads out and just kinda stare at you with there innocent little eyes. I was also watching "Life" on discovery and was just blown away by animal instinct. It's like they see these visual instincts as though drawn out in the air like a map that only animals can see. Then it hit me. The white lines represent the instinct, guiding the turtle along her rightful pathway. A path way to food, to where she lays her eggs, and where she will return to await the coming home of her young. Each line represents a path way. Nature and it's amazing ways are so fascinating.
