Well, mine arrived today. It’s definitely all printed in a raised ink, but mine doesn’t appear to be flaking whatsoever. There is one small scuff in the print job, but it’s really not too bad. I think I’m going to keep it and hope it doesn’t start to disintegrate after the first wash.

I will say though, that I’m disappointed that the pink looks NOTHING like the photo! I’m kinda surprised no one said anything about this, or am I the only one? It looks like this color instead: http://www.colourlovers.com/color/8B3A62/Sweet_Child_of_Mine

yeah it’s a shame, I think bright neon-looking colors just aren’t available for printing unless you use special inks?

I don’t know Bender, because I also have Hyena Boy and Death’s Lunchbox and the pink is pretty true to the model photos – http://www.designbyhumans.com/shop/detail/5445?category=1 Though I’m sure the fact that this design is on a black shirt probably does not help the colors, I know it can be done right.

I agree it is a shame though. The photos for this shirt just seem misleading, since the colors are a big selling point.

Ah yeah, the black shirt. That could be it. I’m not too sure, really. I’m still learning about actual printing processes, etc.

Mine looks like the photo….?

That’s weird. So is there 1 batch of flaky shirts and 1 batch of dull-colored shirts then? That’s really a shame. I’d have to wait until tomorrow to take a picture of it in the sunlight. I tried with a flash and the reflecting light made it look brighter like the model photo, but it really doesn’t look that way on mine.

rto, the guy’s shirt in the picture looks a little duller than the girl’s. i wonder if they did that on purpose, or if it’s just the way it was photographed.

hey lindsay, i’ve actually noticed that on a lot of prints, that the female photo is a little brighter than the male. not quite sure why that is, but of all the shirts I have from DBH this is the only one I’ve got that didn’t look like the one the model is wearing. They didn’t put down a back layer of white or something I guess. The yellows are brownish, the whites are grayish, and the pink is that color of purple i linked to up above.

Am I the only one with the color problem and not a flaky ink problem?

Mine is super vibrant o.o

Maybe I got the girls one instead xD

i don’t know, but i think you should both contact dbh and see if they will send you a new one once everything is sorted out.

Mine looks kinda dull and stuff as well :-/

I still like it, but I think I would have liked it more if it came out like in the photo

Okay everyone I talked to DBH about this, here’s the gist of what they had to say:

The plastisol ink used makes the photos appear more vibrant than they really are due to the photography lighting. The female versions tend to be brighter for all the designs, because apparently the female blanks hold color better than the male ones (hence why the female model’s shirt always looks brighter.)

I’m told that all of them look this way, and that’s just how it is.

Personally, I still really love the art and plan on keeping it. I just would have loved it more if the colors were more true to the design. C’est la vie!

@Thunderpeel – It’s an awesome design man, and I hope the color changes don’t affect your sales. You have my support. Best of luck, and I will be rocking mine!

Thanks! Aside from the colors (which I don’t really mind) I’m really happy with how it came out. Thanks for doing the legwork with DBH for us :-)

I agree, its a super brilliant idea, in fact, its the only shirt I’ve bought on here xD
I might even frame it for fear it will get damaged xD (Darn OCD aha)

if I REALLY like the art on a shirt I’ll do that sometimes. I’ll buy 2- one to wear one to frame.

I’m sorry, but the DBH official byline is absolute horseshit. If you promise vibrant pink and yellow and you get something that looks like watery merlot instead, it is a poor print job, plain and simple.

I am incredibly disappointed in the complete lack of concern for the colors, but moreso in the wholly trash ink they used. I could sand a table with my chest.

Two of the three tees I ordered in the $12 sale were like this. Both were on the 50/50 blanks. Unsurprisingly, the tee I ordered on the old DBH perfect blank is 100% vibrant, has soft ink, and looks exactly like what I ordered. This is a lazy lazy lazy print, and it’s a shame because not only is it a brilliant tee that deserved real respect in printing, but it’s a huge blemish on a site that should seriously know better, and proves they know better on recent shirts.

It would be really good to see some pics of peoples’ copies of this.

Heres mine: I framed it because I was scared it would get ruined xD

I just wish it was more narrow :/ I had it for my Ghost Ride the Whip shirt (http://www.emptees.com/tees/212071-ghostridethewhip-ff5), but I wanted to start wearing that one aha
