Please stop spamming the crap out of my comments. Thanks

Since you felt the need to police coincidentally similar images:

From the Huffington Post

This joke was on Scrubs

Not to mention the 1st hit on google looks quite similar:

And what’s this! One year before you had the brilliant idea:

On a T-Shirt even. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

Moral of the story, before you go policing the internet to protect your brilliance, google it first.

I wasn’t claiming the concept was original for this design. I actually got the idea from watching scrubs. As for policing the internet, I don’t see how that applies. I saw a design, that lots of users had already noted looked really similar to my design in execution on woot, and commented. That’s all that went down. No policing involved, and no claim to being the author of anything but the original “puppet check up” design. Anyhow, point being, I wasn’t, and don’t view myself as policing anything. I wouldn’t even know how to.

Also, it might be beholden to show your identity when making comments, rather than leaving them anonymously.

What gets my goat is that by asking Diana to take her design down it implies that you feel she has no right to have a similar design on another T-Shirt site. It upsets me to see an artist bully another artist in the name of theft (as you again implied on twitter by stating “Someone’s ripping off my shirt design…”) when you yourself admit above that you ripped off the idea from Scrubs. It’s totally within the realm of possibility that she never saw your design considering you didn’t bother to check the internet to see if anyone had already done a similar design before posting yours, which IS the case.

Also, not trying to be picky, but on Woot you did claim the concept as original when you stated: “As the artist of the ORIGINAL “puppet check up design”...” That just isn’t a claim you or most likely anyone can make.

The fact that you believe she ripped you off when, I’m sorry, the joke was already viral via the Huffington Post, not to mention being featured on a widely watched TV show, sits on the absurd side.

I guess I’m left with the question as to why she should take her shirt design down, when your design is so close to a shirt design that was posted over a year ago on a French T-Shirt site (that I linked to above)? It also features the X-Ray Kermit, so why does yours get to stay up, and her’s should come down? This is also irregardless of the fact that woot rejected her design (if you believe her, she reported herself anyway.)

That’s why I feel you’re policing, by stepping into that conversation and asking her to take it down you are effectively saying she has no right to post hers because yours exists. Why? Yours wasn’t the first Kermit X-Ray T-Shirt design (it was just before hers), it wasn’t even original in terms of concept or execution. Why does yours trump hers?

wow, not only has this been printed somewhere else before it showed up here (only the second time this has happened?), but it’s one of the rare pop culture tees that DBH has printed. Interesting. :)

This design was printed before on teefury. I know, because I submitted it to them, and it sold so well, that, since I retained the rights to the t-shirt, dbh picked it up (I believe dbh is under the same ownership)... Hope that solves some of the confusion to the work.

Yeah, it’s funny even though they’re the same people more or less I didn’t think that DBH printed shirts that’ve already been printed anywhere else. Even TF. It actually stopped me from subbing a print I had on TF a few months back to here too, but hey maybe I’ll give it a shot now, ha ha!
