lol the shade of grey from 60% to 70% are fairly similar so that if there is a bar put between them it looks as if the colour hasn’t changed but in actual fact it has.
No, the different colors are all actually the same color, its just that on the left of each edge it’s a little darker and on the right it’s a little lighter. We fill in the surrounding colors with our brain, all we really use to infer color is edges of things.

nice..thats what I was going to guess.. Thats kinda interesting. Cool design..but a tad too simplistic (I know some people LOVE minimalism) for me. I voted for it though!
