this is about a personal memory and a part of my upcoming exhibition which hopefully makes for a generally badass shirt at the same time:
in january 2008 a music club in hollywood was shut down and a show cut short because the place was slightly over capacity. this man had one of the most intense and stern vibes I ever witnessed. that I wanted to capture. and I think I did.
I’m not fully sure these shirts can be printed exactly like I have them in mind (and I wasn’t sure whether bleach counts as color). anyways I needed to give it a try.
the versions on dark shirts (lead and black) are supposed to have the white structures raw discharged.

i love the drawing, but i think the grunge is just – too much grunge. i think if it was just behind the drawing in a painterly style this would do a lot better.
to each their own, I guess. I kind of wanted it to be “too much”, to be sort of destroyed.
when I picture outfits I clearly see this as the “loud” piece accompanied by more muted clothes/colors.

the story behind it is simply cool, and the way you translated that moment into this piece is awesome, loving it, read that your having your first artwork showcase or something, congrats, best of luck, sometimes i think your style is so underrated here, its so gorgeous, love your previous piece and bird of prey is simply beautiful, anyways, supporting art from your unique and eyecatching style…voted…peace..
