DBH staff told me in a mail, that they do not accept “mild interpretations” of other people’s work. I love the old japanese prints and every I tried to use then as clearly as Kaloyster did, my design was refused. I cannot understand how can this one pass through… The eagle thing is not enough to change the fact that this is a hokusai/18h century print.
A better explanation concerning the limits of this kind of practice would be welcomed.
There’s a line where imitation crosses inspiration, and I think this crosses it comfortably. There’s more in my blog... but less about art philosophy and more about awesomeness.
