About the Artist
Ellsswhere has 1 design in the running.
This Concept had humble beginnings and slowly progressed into what you see here. A quill and ink well depicted as bird and octopus. As I began to rework the design I realized the full impact of this relation. Although most early pigments were created from plant matter there are records showing cuttle fish ink sacks being used and of course bird feathers as quills. A highly complex yet simple minded vertebrate of the skies and a simplistically built cephalopod, thought to be one of the more intelligent creatures of the ocean. Black and white, ying and yang… the perfect balance, brought together to create written word and beautiful images.
Then again when you spend so many hours on a design your mind can get carried away.

Yeah Jeff, this is a sick design dude. But it does get lost in the dark shirt. Voted.
i like the original drawing…maybe you should do it dark brown and red on beige tee…would look sick…i like the illustration though
Actually, I like the dark version. It’s more subtle which sort of mirrors your own experience realizing the full empact of the relation between the bird and octopus. Nice job!
I love it! I thought I preferred the lighter one, but now that I think of it the darker one seems better..

i like your color choice on the bird/octopus (second image) :) +1!
