biteintoacloud has 0 designs in the running.

Title taken form an Elbow song. Lyrics in the song really have nothing to do with the image. I just thought it fit nicely with the design.

There are many color versions to this design and you can view them at my flickr account:

Hope you enjoy and thank for taking to time to look.

Oh, i forgot to add. Once you look at the color options at my flickr account, please comment which one you like the best.

So when stating your opinion, just use the title given to that shirt on in flickr. For instance:
“1 COLORATHLETIC HEATHER” or “7 COLORPARA-MILITARY

Thank you all for looking!

SORRY Dude, I don’t really like.
I mean the illustration-style is very cool,.
But hey; STOP WAR!
For me, this is war-gloryfication. .. or maybe I just didn’t get it right?!
I think you can do better things with your illustration-talent.
Anyway, good luck!

This was part of WW2 propaganda poster (a craze over the possibility that Hitler may drop a biological bomb).

Everything is similar, except on the poster the girl was holding an apple

Radiomode is right, it’s a great drawing, but a complete copy of the propoganda poster…i knew it looked familiar

sick!

Yes, Radiomode is correct. I did get the image from a WW2 propaganda poster in which there was a photograph of these 2 children, and yes the girl is originally holding an apple. I thought it was a powerful image and would make a nice illustration for a shirt. So i drew it. I’d like to think i added my own sense of “style” in drawing it and adding all the halftone texture and color (which this image is too small to see all the halftone patterns)

I’m not going to call anyone else’s submissions out here, but i have seen a few submissions in which someone took a very popular, even iconic image if you will and gave their own interpretation of it. Which is what i feel i have done. And i see nothing wrong in this. This particular poster is public domain, therefor there is no copyright infringement and by adding my own style i do not feel it is a direct copy.

I do thank everyone who has commented thus far, and i do mean all comments. I admire all the artist and their submissions and hope everyone will continue commenting (good or bad) and vote for this piece if they enjoy it.

reminds me of the american gothic painting of the farm couple… but with gas masks and grenades instead of pitchforks

I understand what you are intend to do. Some image could be so powerful, that it left a deep impression.
