Taking what could ostensibly be the disparate remnants of a laboratory procedure gone awry, Jim manages to meld the resultant tension—eerie and macabre, but still optimistic—into a visually appealing and intellectually compelling work. This is evocative art!
Apologies to all re the placement on the shirt. I am brand new to t-shirt design/competition. Stress Dog, alsoon DBH, was my first ever, and it was submitted maybe 10 days ago. This week I will get CS3 and then I will learn how to produce the desired placement images. I saw this design in 2 ways. One would be to give it a black border and position it in the usual spot. The other would be to remove the border and see if the vintage book cover on which the image is drawn couldn’t seem to bleed out on a natural colored/oatmeal colored sort of shirt. Mainly I just draw and so I have not yet quite gotten it into my mind how a piece will look on a t-shirt with the negative space, added color of the shirt, the different surface, and all that. But I’ll change! You’ll see!
Thanks all for the kind words about this design. I really like it and it seems to be part of the new direction my drawings are headed. I think. I don’t ever really know for sure. Whatever, I appreciate the comments.

Cool. How do you see it on a shirt? Where’s the placement image?
