WOW!!! +1 :D
Woot it is up at last. If anyone has any question about how I created my design feel free to ask.
@Luneder You should post process images in here.
@wotto sadly I did not take many screen caps because it was pretty straight forward painting.
Best I can do to give an idea is post this wip:
The background effect was done using various textures I have picked up over time that created a desaturated version of then pushed the contrast way up to create white areas that I then selected using color select. After I selected the areas of white deleted them then using a clipping mask layer applied a color layer to it to make it yellow. I then copied that layer and vertically flipped it then changed it to orangish-red. From there the rest was done with a clipping mask to add more blank areas and textural look with a custom texture brush, by doing this I can remove or add more without actually doing anything permanent to the image.
If anyone wants to know more about layer masks and clipping masks just post a question here and I will answer it to the best of my ability. This is the technical aspect of Photoshop that all professional artists have to master at some point to have the best control over what they do to their illustrations.
KICK ASS ONE! +1
Amazing art here. Nice to see a different character featured.
I checked to see what color t-shirts it works best on, most of the really dark shirts it did fine with, black was the best overall. Red and light colored shirts do not contrast well with it and should be avoided. Brown shirts seem to do fine probably because when I started this I used a dark brown paint tone from the color 101 paint tone list for a base.
I have the design setup for both flat jpg and transparent png that way if this does make it onto a t-shirt it is ready to print no matter the format.
awesome artwork! +1
Since I forgot to put up the dimensions the full illustration is
19” x 33”
I wanted it to be extra tall to make full use of the front when I decreased the width/size to fit the body onto the shirt.
I love it !!! +1
Also check my design! Thanks for the support!
I wish I had found this in time to vote for your design. This is awesome!
@bleedscoffee Sadly I am not well known and do work that generally doesn’t get mainstream notice so I couldn’t take advantage of the same viewer base as some of the other entries. From what I have been told the actual selection of winners is done by judges, not sure what the voting is used for.
