About the Submission

Dragonflies have always meant something special to me. The love for dragonflies began in Florida one summer when a hurricane was fast approaching. As I went outside to quickly gather my belongings that were on my patio, the wind blew the door out of my hand and within that gust of wind was a brilliant blue dragonfly. It landed on it's back on top of my kitchen counter. I gently picked it up and put it in my bathroom to protect it from my cat and also the raging storm outside. When the hurricane passed, I set it free. From that point, my life changed dramatically. I grew in so many ways, in which I'm very grateful for. To me, the dragonfly symbolizes a beautiful transformation.
