DBH Music Series Presents Lil WayneUnquestionably Lil Wayne will go down in history as the best rapper of his generation. Indeed he may go down as one of the best artists in hip-hop period. One look at Lil Wayne’s impeccable track record will convince even the most ardent skeptic that the New Orleans born lyricist is a strong contender for the crown of “Greatest of All Times.” Now with his highly anticipated sixth and arguably his best album The Carter III, Lil Wayne’s career and legacy is set to climb to even greater heights. "I made The Carter III so that whatever song is on, it will stick with you forever,” says Wayne. “That’s why I took my time with it. I wanted it to be a classic.” Born DeWayne Michael Carter, Jr. and raised in New Orleans infamously poor Hollygrove neighborhood, his talent drew interest from major producers at an early age. In 1997, a 15 year old Wayne joined forces with BG, Juvenile and Turk to form The Hot Boys for their debut album Get It How U Live. The record sold over 400,000 copies independently. The Hot Boys sophomore LP Guerilla Warfare (1999) went platinum and earned Wayne critical acclaim. That set the stage for his platinum selling 1999 solo debut Tha Block Is Hot. GQ Magazine named Lil Wayne as its “Man Of The Year” for 2007. Rolling Stone Magazine tagged him as “Best MC of 2008” while Blender Magazine (2008) named him the “Best Rock Star Alive.” So it should come as no surprise that his latest solo outing finds the hip-hop super star at the top of his game. With Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne proves to the world why he is indeed considered “the best rapper alive” and one of the great recording artists of his generation. |

whoah this is awesome!
ok he’s commercially good but the best? haha! ok
Well it’s now obvious that DBH doesn’t know jack about hiphop. Please educate yourself before throwing out blanket statements like “Indeed he may go down as one of the best artists in hip-hop period”. I understand you probably did it to promote your link up with Lil’ Wayne but it just looks ignorant on your part.

First, it’s cool to see a new genre, I heard lil wayne and he is a good rapper, but to me hip hop and rap are different and once you throw up a comp for some more serious hip hop heads,
typical cats, de la soul, blackalicous, brother ali, atmosphere, blue scholars, illogic, mos def, talib and on and on
I will be doing something with some serious quality time spent on it. No offense to lil wayne, he will have his place in history and has done good but this is just me. Looking forward to more music comps though, will be subbin again in the future, hopefully soon..
FOR. THE. WIN.
This contest will be awesome.
hahahahahaha!!
I almost though this was an April Fools joke!
This contest is going to produce some crazy designs! mine included!
I wouldn’t know where to start, have you guys seen the tees in his online store? Terrible.
to Griff81. Not a single one of those artist have ever given away totally free albums for the public to download and not a single one of them can flow through freestyle or put words together like lil wayne and make it all make sense. they are all great hip hop artist dont get me wrong, there just not as talented and they werent as creative enough to promote themselves by giving the music away for free. Lil wayne has over 6 albums that he himself put together and put on the internet for the public to download. I do love Tribe, and Mos and Kalib, and lupe, but the crown tops here.
Good luck to everyone entering this contest. I have some awesome ideas and I can only hope to keep up with some of the truly talented artist this site has brought together. cant wait to see everyones submissions.
Peace in the middle crease
to Scottie, yea that shit in his online store is wack. thats that bullcrap that the labels have put together and shit. thats y they come to where the fans lie and but their blood and sweat into winning these contest cause theres no better publicity or promotion and where can you receive better illustrations and ideas for memorabilia than the dbh community ????
Go WORK !!!!!!!!!
