I’m confused: how is the DBH pick relevant to the KISS-contest? since the design “Must NOT contain the KISS logo or any other KISS design elements”??

it would be hand drawn elements as in drawings of the band I would think.

Im a bit confused regarding the kiss style guide. Are we allowed to manipulate the logos in anyway? for example duplicate and warp them? what about changing the colours?

This is wonderful. I cannot wait to see what people come up with. A Kiss shirt with no Kiss logo is something I can’t relate to, but I’m sure some of you big brain artist will think of something!!

i have no interesting visual backround for doing something interesting right now, but seeing some aspects of Beatles (their main reference), Wicked Lester (their awesome earlier band, and awesome sound, which i personally really whished it were last for long before KISS), and 70’s-alike stuff (when they started to be known), would be very interesting! =)

finally got the artwork to download, but where are the specs? size of artwork? type of file acceptable? were these very important details forgotten? sure humans make mistakes…but not designers! ;-)

Seriously for the love of god can someone at designbyhumans please tell me and al the rest of the boys and girls how you open the Kiss Style guide or is that a contest as well?

I don’t understand. Where is the style guide? The download only contains photoshop and illustrator files. Where are the specs too? The blurb says designs that use elements not in the style guide (the downloaded images presumably) will be rejected. There appears to be a few here that don’t. Will all these be rejected? More clarity please!

The style guide contains the only images authorized at this time that can be used for the contest. If you have your own photos that you own the copyright to, feel free to use them. Don’t steal them off the internet or you will be rejected. The submissions that are not using the provided art seem to be more original art, but for the most part I see the images provided above. As far as the specs for the art, please design at 200-300 dpi at least 1/2 the final size. It’s no different than all other submissions. The guidelines are simple and you can refer the to submissions page if you need more detail. Cheeto reporting in from the Apple store at the Spectrum in Irvine.

Its a shame they dont want real art, I draw mine by hand and most of these look like photoshops, thats not real art.

LilDesigner = you can enter as many times as you want. Keep in mind, quality, not quantity.

Lesakisses = I don’t recall the rules saying they don’t want hand drawn entries. If that’s your forte, by all means create and submit.

I’m curious about something. I see designs using the KISS logo but images not included in the style guide. Am I missing something or is that permitted?

If Kiss is going for the 70’s sound for the new album, I hope they pick something colourful and eyecatching for the album cover. Afterall, that’s what drew me to Kiss in the first place..the look!

I think a decision is extremely difficult to make. An amount of good T-Shirt-designs have arisen here. I would like to wear almost all T-shirts, but I wouldn’t like to be in the position to choose one.
