About the Artist
the_jcw has 17 designs in the running. This is the 2nd winning design for the_jcw.
With a contest like this we need to make use of the awesome printing abilities involved at DBH.
Definitely an oversize print with placement either centered or to the side with wrap around and sleeve printing for both options.
-metallic inks for the scales
-waterbased inks for the watercolor background and slight red on the clouds.
-stitching for the blue wave pattern coming straight out its mouth.
-while we’re at it, why not an option of a slightly different run of UV ink for a nice nighttime glow.

Wow.. the details on this are crazy!
I’m loving the UV on this, the shirt just changes colors. It’s great, not to mention how good it looks on almost every color shirt. Awesome submission.
Great design! I would buy specially if it was printed on a teal or brown shirt.
went all out with the printing techniques! I like it eventhough i when the opposite direction for my 10k sub, check it out if you like

omg this would get me so many booty calls. the central placement on the tan/brown please
ok you want to know what I think about this? IT’S BRILLIANT. I LOVE the middle color scheme. I honestly think it’s perfect that way. GOD. the colors are amazing dude. nice job. I’d love to see this printed. +1
Loving it!
I like it! +1!
Also vote for my shirt “Christ The Redeemer!”
Later.
I’d have to say that for your work on this one, it’s not as open as the others. What I mean by that is that normally you have a very open field that allows a whole lot of movement on the placement on the shirt, but this one is actually challenged by that. For instance, by putting it in the lower corner (the bottom option) you lose a lot of the extra detail that you’ve put into the design. If you off set the design (the middle option) then you create this double box feel on a shirt which I myself tried and can tell it doesn’t look good from my own experience. So because of the way the design is self contained (so to speak for lack of a better way of saying that) the only really good looking placement is straight on in the middle. BTW, this whole comment is JUST about placement, I thought I would give you another comment on the design itself separate.
I actually didn’t like the design when I first stared at it, but as the whole thing sunk in and as I reread the title I came to liking it more and more. It’s a very interesting, extremely creative concept that you’ve drawn out using a dragon or something like…. throwing up. I think one of my favorite aspects of the designs is the use of the firey colors on the dragons back. But even more so, I really like the way the clouds flow around the dragon in a very calming graphical way. I know that all of this sounds weird, but your design actually looks best with age to the eye, as in the longer I stare at it the more i like it. Unfortunately a whole lot of people might not see that right away, so if I were you I would post this somewhere and then post it again to see if that can lure in more people. As far as colors, I really like the original one (right one of the three) the best because of the variety and classical clashes. :)
ohmy i really love this :} great design + colors.. tho i would like the best black shirt + colors :P
Absolutely gorgeous work man! – the subtlety – the colours – the lines -all absolutely awesome!!!
I love the details so much…combining the elements of fire and water. Faved it. Voted my friend. Goodluck!
this design is really neat ;D, Im really feeling the yellow tee and the color sceme chosen for it. The overall effect of all your designs always set a high standard, making it a little harder for the rest of us lol but the challenge is always cool. +
Ahh this is great! good to see you’ve submitted, came out fantastic! love the whole! ++
sorry for the wrong vote:)
guess this is the correct sub, so voted here! too:))
