I like the white backdrop for this. I think you need to invest in more colour schemes that work well on light colours instead of having so many black backdrops ;)
incredibly striking. and a little overwhelming on black. would love to see the orange one on white.

the use of chaotic splash caught my eye, then the your expert application of analogous colors in almost contrasting layers upon (seemingly) random shapes, wisps.. you are a master and that nearly ethereal background frames your vision perfectly…

I just realized there is a version on white. That one is my favorite in this contest and i give you all my support to make it. Good luck it will be the one to be chosen. Because it´s a classic and characteristic work. And last an excellent placement.
The black one is where the action is at guys. The other ones are good, but the black is so much better looking it isn’t even a fair comparison.

can someone please tell me how the sizes work. ive never ordered from here before. Because im measuring according to the size charts, but it looks like a shirt thats normally medium is closer to small with these shirts. (measured a shirt of mine, 24 long 18 wide and its “medium”).

No, in my honest opinion, they’re shorter from the shirts I usually wear. They are a bit wider though. I usually wear XL’s, but I bought an XXL for my dad, and that fits me better then him. I’m not fat or anything either.

Ok this is awesome and sad at the same time. I was really hoping DBH would blow me away by printing the original colors I designed. They said up to 14 colors. I didn’t design the yellow and red on black shirt. What say you DBH?
Great design, and i think the print turned out alright. I was hopin for the left chest placement and a smaller sun though. All in all, it’s a great shirt and hope to be wearing it soon

I voted for this one and was anxious to be able to order it when printed. I can’t say that I’ll be ordering it now. Completely disappointed with the final product colours and this looks nothing like the original design.

How come DBH does this disservice to its 10,000 US dollar winner by distorting the design in the change of colors?
If one looks at the presentation panel of the 5 finalist, all other FOUR DESIGNS — placing 2nd to 5th are printed in the colors of the design!
Yet their own acknowledged – best of the lot – top of the heap – winningest design is badly treated with colors not originally made in the mind of the artist, but distorted by its t shirt printer!
Wake up DBH…you’d lose famous artists this way!

Congrats on the 10K, although DBH really dropped the ball on this one. The mesh of colors was really one of the pillars of the original design. The fact that they changed the design on the winning shirt of this competition means that somebody is either running out of colors or has lost their business sense.

It should have been printed on both/all sides, and in the purple? color that was diplayed during the voting. I was really pulling for this shirt, and I am glad it won, but I wont buy it because of the coloration and because this shirt SCREAMED to be a full shirt print. DBH just blew a sale,although I’m sure they don’t care about one jacka@@ like me.
Note: before I go spending $25+ for a shirt, it better be a full print, otherwise it really does look lame from the side or any other angle besides head-on, get with it DBH, we are looking for full-on awesomeness. Front print doesn’t cut it.

sry double post, i was really happy that you won at first and i didnt even notice that your original design wasn’t there. The red/yellow on black looks ok but the original was a 10/10. Seems like everyone is pretty upset right now, ill probably sit and wait til they reprint the original. Im just not buying this half assed version of your design
colors changed or not, you should be proud of this, it’s really nice art. And it’s going to be seen everywhere which means exposure and more work, also 10k really does make more things possible.
i thinks that the scaled down version that dbh did of this better fits a t shirt. however, this is freaking 10k here and everyone voted on the original design and not this. i think that it should get some prints of the original design!

i got noticed that some colors from the original design has been omitted.. why is that DBH? maybe it would looked awesome if this printed on twelve colors like the 2nd place “Altitude Sickness” design or just because it used waterbase inks which is limited in color?.. well, i don’t know.. hope DBH has a 2nd version print of this design..

I was going to order this shirt, but i am Completely disappointed with the final product. It doesn’t look even close to the design. I don’t know what went wrong.
The white T-shirt version doesn’t really pay homage to your original design – charcoal neither… But it seems to do the job on black!
DBH, this really lowered my respect for you. You don’t show off a great design from one of the best designers here, then give them $10,000 and a different print than everyone voted for. I have to agree with the comments about design vs print. One of the things that makes DBH stand out from other t-shirt printing outfits, is the use of multiple bold colours and large dtg prints.
What the heck DBH? The original design was mind-blowing and this does a sincere injustice to the artwork, you should know that, and we all know you’re more than capable of doing it right, so why did it get washed out? I’m sorry collisiontheory, but congratulations on the win, I hope the money truly blesses you. : D

The design looks so, so, soooo weak on grey and white. Reprint with submitted design. This doesn’t make any sense. We deserve to get the actual design voted for, especially since it got 1st place.

You won 10k, with that go print the tee the way you wanted if it bothers you that much collisiontheory, you have no right to even complain or comment about the print considering DBH just gave you 10k for this design.
DBH paid out $10,000 for this design plus all the production costs. The whole 10k contest was a gesture to the community, a way of SAYING THANKS, now you guys are going to harp on them for not printing exactly as the original design? Says alot about those who complained.

this should just be scrapped and redone like the original design that we all voted for. Sadly, it was probably to cut costs or something. It’s a shame some other tee’s that I bought wasn’t an all around print as well
I am a bit confused, and would appreciate clarification. The product description says that this is a fabric edition tshirt, but several of the comments above say that this is not fabric edition. Did I miss some announcement regarding a change in the tshirt blank that will be used?
So much less cool than the original design. The design was my favorite, but I wouldn’t have voted for it in the way they’ve decided to print it.
Considering DBH paid out such a big wad of cash for this design, you think they would have had a bit more respect for it. I’m really just kind of confused. The original would have been awesome printed.

I was totally blown away when I saw the original submission, but this print doesn’t look anywhere near as good. What happened to the colors on it, and why is the design so oversized? Why isn’t this even offered on a women’s shirt or in the fabric print that was promised? I’m sorry, but so not buying as I intended. Totally not what I voted for.
Excuse me, but are those guys from dbh serious? what is this? looks like a true collision – but a printing disastrous collision with reality – in all possible bad WAYS… is that “this” amazing shirt out of this world we all waited for?? you gotta be kiddin, I was making shirts like that back in primary school by randomly making knots and dipping them in fabric dye with very similar effect…I am kinda disappointed….
I’m not going to hop on this freak-out bandwagon, but seriously… that looks awful. Who in their right mind would pay $25 for that? It only looks half decent in black, and I was really looking forward to it being in white. I absolutely loved the original design, if it’d come out the way it looked there would be no argument here, i’d gladly pay $25 for that. I was really hoping that’s what would be printed, a gradient full of yellow, green, and blue. This just looks like piss and bleach.
Oh well, maybe next time.
Eh, yeah, I’m with everyone else: this needs to be more like the original design. I’d maybe accept this (on black it still looks cool), but not for $25, which comes out to nearly $30 with tax and the cheapest shipping.

OK VERY VERY Disappointed on the final product.
The Design was not hard to make (reproduce) if you know what paint tools to use. That’s not my complaint at all- Collision does good work with color and simple designs that are bold. The original colors and shading is what sold this design more than the art itself and DBU lost his concept- I don’t know why it could not print full colors. The black one is ok but the white and grey are not even close to the intended design and are dull. At least you Got 10K theory- and a flat T shirt. Maybe they will reprint???

Congrats. I didn’t really like the original colors, and I think it looks way less kitschy now that it’s printed. But it’s true that it’s a little oversized.
DHB, good job for the final print, but i understand that people get angry, because you changed the original design, which they had voted for. This is not the artist"s artwork, now, it’s a sorta coproduction.
I will join the many in saying that I am greatly saddened by the DBH interpretation of the original artwork. The depth and layering of the bold colors in the original made me vote for it. This printing lacks the depth, the intrigue, the awesomeness. If I had known how boring this would look when redesigned by DBH I’d have never voted for it. With only two of the original 5 colors and the disturbing use of gray and white shirts, this stunning artwork lost its value and has descended into that of a simple t-shirt with a complex incomprehensible design. This Human is not happy.
the smaller sun was better too, the fact that the sun is bigger just leaves this shirt with less personality, there is a HUGE void right in the middle of the shirt. previously there was more variety of colors and more of it since the sun was smaller.
I still cant believe the terrible job that DBH did on this shirt, it was a perfect design with TERRIBLE execution.

The white versions offered here look like shit. It honestly looks like accidentally paint splatter on your shirt. Why would anyone buy them?
Original design even… IMO didn’t deserve 1st place.
No offense designer, but the reason it isnt original design(non-color-wise) is because your design had siginificant issues with placement and use of space. The bottom half of the shirt in the original was awkward. So to fix it they added in those blurs of yellow and red. The basic design (not colors) is better in this printed version. And I don’t really think the old colors add anything more to the shirt, the design is just uninteresting in general.
I would like to see stormink design a shirt so I could decide if it has a future in any 10,000 US $ contest either by DBH or any of the similar websites.

StormInk, I think you’re missing the point. Why would DBH totally jack over the original design? That’s the whole point of it. To be original. By changing so many elements it doesn’t even look like the artists work anymore. If they can pull of PPP then they can do this. It’s fine if you didn’t like the original-but it still shouldn’t go against the artwork. Doing so goes against the grain of what DBH has stood for. I personally felt the original design was enthralling and placement and flow were excellent.
I really appreciate how DBH is supporting an active artistic community, but at the same time I have to agree with others that this is wrong, and at least would appreciate an official description of why so many elements were changed. I would feel the same way if I didn’t like this design.

I’ve been saying this so many times whenever DBH printed the tees in colours not offered for voting or when brilliant work from designers like dagnis get like 100 over votes and still get binned..DBH should just get together everyday and print what they like..screw the votes..isn’t this what’s happening now?

i’m fairly sure CollisionTheory hasn’t actually had any word from DBH about the money.
So DBH should really stop mucking about and pay him, regardless of what the final product looks like.
the shirt looks even worse in person. on the gray shirt the blue is much darker and you can barely even see it.
Unfortunately, the print lost its vibrancy and partially washed out after the initial cold-water wash. :(

I think so! I have to congratulate Collision Theory on a great initial and personally voted for design but DBH has let the ball drop on this one and should acknowledge and rectify the mistake.

Ahh, I thought something was different from the loc of the t’ I’m looking at. White was definitely had a much bolder look to it. The black t’ is equally as nice to me though

The blue portion of the mens on grey is misrepresented. It is not as light blue as the picture looks, in reality it is much closer to the blue on the womens grey…. very dissapointed when I opened up my DBH package :(.

I don’t know that grey was reprinted, because it doesn’t indicate that it’s printed on their new “Perfect Tees”, which is what they’re printing all their new shirts on.
