Lol, sleep is overrated. We had TERRIBLE storms out here and I could sleep, haha.
We have a program in the states called “D.A.R.E.” (just wiki it, it’s faster, haha). and I’ve always been the posterchild for the D.A.R.E. program, haha. Don’t drink, smoke, etc etc etc. I’ve always thought drugs were bad – but “bad” used to mean things like “morally wrong and using them makes you a bad person!” Once I got to college I made some friends who occasionally used – but I didn’t know it when he and I became friends. By the time I found out, I already respected him, etc. Over the past few years (starting with that incident and following through the Mexican drug violence, etc. ), I’ve redefined drug use. I can know admit that “use” and “abuse” are different – I’m ok with one but not the other. I still think drugs are “bad” – but bad has evolved into “a bad/unhealthy idea” instead of “SENDINGYOUSTRAIGHT TO HELLL!” haha. One of my coworkers does recreational use on his own time, and we were talking and he goes “I mean, as long as you don’t care that I do it – even if you don’t, that’s fine smile“ I explained, “I do care, but in the same way that I’d care if you wanted to eat the KFC Doubledown or go on the Morgan Spurlock “Supersize Me” diet, haha.” He said, “Fair enough, haha” and that was the end of it. To be fair, generally speaking, I mean pot when I say drugs – cause no one’s going to convince me that there’s anything redeeming in Meth. I still would prefer if no one did drugs (abuse or otherwise), but US drug laws don’t actually work in accomplishing that, haha. I think that it should be treated as a public health issue instead of a criminal justice issue, and I think that as long as someone’s drug use – be it pot, tobacco cigarettes, or alcohol – doesn’t affect (negatively, presumably) anyone else, then I don’t really care. Tons of people do tons of unhealthy stuff, and it might make me sad that people don’t choose to take better care of themselves (be that through food choices, or whatever), but if it doesn’t affect anyone but them, then it’s just their business. I think the problem is that most of the people that I’ve met in my past (and to a degree, those I deal with now) don’t understand the difference between “use” and “abuse.”
But enough about that, haha, there’s enough of that on mah blog, haha. I’m kinda bummed because myself and a bunch of friends were going to try and go up to Toronto and it doesn’t like it’s going to happen at all this summer, haha. Lame. At least if I convince myself that it’s hotter up there than it is here, it won’t sound so sucky, haha.
Hi Matt! waves It’s ok, I’m actually a national medal winning debater, lol. It’s one of the things I loved best about my last boyfriend – we’d have intellectual arguments and we enjoyed it. There were only a couple times where I started to take stuff personally and I was like “ok, we’re going to step back and continue this later, k?”
I’m actually honored you value my opinions on stuff, haha. Not to self-promote, but if you really like reading my opinions about stuff, haha, feel free to head over and read my blog. I don’t really care if strangers (or anyone) actually wants to read it, it more just the random shit I think about and my opinions on stuff, haha. I’ve found that the people even remotely interested in what I have to say are the people who know me or enjoy my random thoughts on things like the slutty girl I saw at the zoo and my changing stance on marijuana, haha.
I’d love to see your new design – I have nothing inherently against tattoos, just lower back tattoos and the slutty chicks they’re associated with, haha.
Hey man, it’s nice to have a good discussion about art. I think it’s important to sort of debate about these types of things, I don’t think people can trust their beliefs unless they’ve had them tested.
About Burgin, you know, I’d probably wear it. I do think there is definitely charm in things that are simple and arbitrary. That being said I don’t think it would be a good print for DBH. This site, like any other site or store, has a niche, and I don’t think that shirt really fits it, and I doubt it would sell well with DBH customers. I think it would fit more with a place that sells humor/novelty shirts. But who knows, I could be wrong, they could print it and it could sell like hot cakes (or burgers).
