Valid point. I had actually planned on using a skateboard but it just didn’t work out the way I wanted. Plus I figured it also helps fund recreational programs, not just skateboarding. The surfboard concept just better portrayed the statement I was trying to make which was for my design to symbolize the pursuit of ones dreams, to follow your passions no matter what whether surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, designing t-shirts or accounting. You will never truly be happy until you do because it’s not so much about being successful in those dreams, but the honest pursuit that will give you the satisfaction you will be searching for later in life. In short" Life is less about finding the perfect wave, than it is about enjoying the search."……..does that make sense?

No problem. If you plan on doing more design in the future, I’d recommend first developing your skills before you start buying programs, because a lot of the stuff is super expensive (some people pirate it on the internet though). If you just did the design as a one time thing because you like the band, and art/design isn’t something you’re really serious about, I wouldn’t worry about buying anything.

Places like Kinkos will let you use photoshop on their computer thoughs. Don’t know if they have that where you are.

Have you checked to make sure it’s the right size and filetype? I really have no idea without seeing for myself.

oh the tape, well about 4 years ago, i was in a charette style contest put on by the LAIAC (los angeles interior architecture council—a branch of the AIA, american institute of architects). we had 5 hours to create and present our interior architectural solution, and thanks to the tape, we had a series of models, made in a matter of minutes, that set us apart from the other 60 or so contestants…and we ended up winning $6000.

of coarse I really wanted it, those designs will be world wide….Heres the thing, ‘track record’ includes all the hits, which the tour is about, it also is a unisex design, many mac fans and fans of the art itself said it was their favorite and for young and old, also it features the current band, how else is it suppose to “fit” the band?
I think it’s easy to say there will be other opportunities. But you are right, there will be.

Right. Like I said somewhere in that giant thread, I totally agree with him that copyrighted works shouldn’t be used unless you have a clear title to use it (and back to the original point of the thread, people should read and abide by the rules DBH posts – but DBH also has duties and liabilities too).

Beyond that though, he got all preachy, he was trying to be the police of DBH, he was being extremely arrogant, and his view of the online art and design world and people who should be able to participate was extremely narrow and the exact opposite of what I imagine places like DBH are trying to facilitate. Not to mention he couldn’t actually show anyone one single thing he’s specifically done outside of DBH to try and give himself any credibility for why he should get to run his mouth like he did.

It looks like he’s given up or taken a break from “policing” DBH, at least for now.

thanks for your first comment and wrighting back to my comment to you. i have honestly never been apart of a “art community” im not sure what it is like. i was just used to art classes but i wanted to maybe get to some level in trying new things. i gotta admit some of the things you said did come off a little strong but i really respect that you voiced your opinion and didnt flat out say no or this is the worst idea/picture ever wich you very well could have done but you didnt. im sure i didnt pick the right time to experiment and probably went a little too far with it but hey i saw the opportunity and took it. anyways thanks

Hey man..hows going…about my “Kois in Heaven” design…at first would be only the front with de big carp, but i wanna make a front/back design a long time ago…so a came with this idea, to put more than one element, and pass the levity feeling on the shirt..its like the kois were floating all over the tee…but thankx for the coment..i appreciate that ^^

I donno if EP will ever restore to its former glory. Its seems like CA.org really took over the forum population of concept artists. If you’re ever looking for a small, insanely blunt/critical community, though, I recommend Penny Arcade’s forum. The crits are sometimes harsh, but always pretty honest and helpful.

I just wanted to say that things got out of hand a bit over the past few days. I’ve had time to digest, think and regroup. I’m totally for creativity and will continue to support the artists as well as this site. Let the past be the past. I even went as far as apologizing to jimiyo for anything “negative” that I may have said. I believe you are a stand up guy and this is a great company (probably the best t-shirt site out there based on my observations and perusal of the multitude of sites) and I plan on sticking around and buying t-shirts that I like on here. I may even submit more in the future. Anyway, I hope we can move forward in a positive way.

you might want to try www.topfeuds.com …the site went live a few weeks ago so most of the current designs that are up for vote are shit.. and you get i think 10% per shirt sold. its worth a try if you get tired of waiting. teextile is another one that i think might print that..
