Hey I just posted my second design here on DBH, for the Fleetwood Mac contest. I still don’t know a lot of people on here and with the new site I can’t figure out how to browse all artists…? The back seems a little intense considering the “lightness” of the front design. I’m not saying it wouldn’t work. It’s just my opinion that the back might overpower the front. Love the front.

Really, for that very reason there is nothing more maddening than seeing a promising design up for voting that, for any number of reasons, doesn’t quite yet have what it takes to get votes—even from those whom would normally vote for it, including myself!

Thus, what I recommend that everyone do is post their design in the critique section of the forum before they officially submit their design. That way you can get at least a good deal of feedback and make as many changes as you want before the design gets locked in for voting. (Ironically, I have personally yet to spend much time there.)

All that you need to do is get your presentation image on a hosting site like Photobucket and then paste its image tag into the text form. As long as you keep the same file name for each version—which necessitates deleting the old one from the hosting site before uploading the new one—the image here will always be the most current.

Like on most forums, the posts are sorted according to recent activity. Thus, every time you upload a new version, it’d be good idea to post a comment to your own post specifying that you’ve made changes, so that way your post ascends back to the top of the list!

Lastly, while whoring your design by commenting and voting on other people’s designs is bad practice—and one not hardly chided enough—I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with contacting artists that you respect through their profile and asking them to critique your design. By that method, your design might get more critical feedback than it would if you simply posted it and waited for random people to comment. Also, rather than rely primarily on moving your post back to the top—where they inevitably won’t stay for long, at any rate—you could contact your most active critics personally and let them know that a new version is up.

In short, there is a solution to both of our grief regarding the inability to update designs once submitted! I hope it becomes useful to you! :]

I think you might be able to alter an image after submission if you e-mail the good people at dbh. Might not be possible but who knows..

Oh I wish I was so talented! My friend Sara directed me here for the Fleetwood Mac contestants—I’m in awe!

i am sooo ashamed for what i did i wish i were dead right now thankyou for reconizing my bad deeds it has teached me a lesson i am no longer making an pictures of anything form this point on…… :(
