His body of work is now more directly focused on commissioned painting and licensed fashion design. "The delusional aura of my imagination is the complex momentum which keeps me vital. Friends and life experiences are the inspiration and drive behind my creativity. I am more interested in the dark celestial incubus hidden inside the ego shell of life. Intentional exploration of the mysterious deep emotions that temporal mundane everyday life seems to mask is necessary. Whether working in oils or mixing digital photography with traditional drawing techniques it is the constant investigation of innovative methods that seems to feed my creative heart." - N. Beery I am contract Illustrator/Designer Nick Beery (BeeryMethod) who professionally works in a variety of media and applications both traditional and digital. With a background in Illustration and a BFA from RSAD (not a clown college!) I have worked with apparel companies, musicians, retail and ad, publishers, editors, printers, as well as commissioned work in a multitude of creative venues. As a designer, I have been working in the fashion and music industry since my incept date from the creative factory circa 2003. Prior experience within the illustration and design field has allowed me to think and act as a printer and editor. With an educated knowledge of composition, color-palettes, typography and type-set, mixed with unique digital methods my platform for a constant progression into genre/gender-specific production has been a wondrous ride of progressive pride and passion. That of which is easily translated from concept to print. Efficient skills include not only unique and innovative design but knowledge of material, dyes/inks/colors, marketing identification, color separation, garment styles and work within a constant effort to not only keep up with trend but keep a step ahead of the market-trend flow...particularly if this means throwing the standard business model straight out the window. This includes creating new efforts in graphics, templates, cut & sew, archival media, as well as seasonal styles and palettes. I am based in Seattle where I strive to make some of the most intriguingly cerebral subcultural pieces of original artwork in the Pacific Northwest. |
