I missed the last one but I plan on making a big splash this time! (perhaps I’ll get my 1st elusive print?)

I’m actually concerned about the fairness of the voting system…last year it was pretty straight foward most votes = win which sounds great on paper but when you consider the average DBH artist going up against guys with HUGE fans bases it seem a little biased IMO. I wonder if anything is being done about that?

do you guys think they would really print someone for the first time? I’m also in this position, I’ll try my best in the contest, but I expect somebody well known to win… not one of us new guys…

honestly I’m not intimidated in the slightest,I welcome the challenge even if I don’t win I’ll at least have put out some great work. I think you guys are selling yourselves short.

In the Tennessee Powerball Lottery, the stakes sometimes the prize is millions of dollars+.

For those that are negative nancy about winning this competition, why don’t you collab with another artist? That’s still 5K each.

I seriously doubt that. It seems unfair for one person to win it 2 years in a row.

I think they should take out the popular vote this year and just invite big name judges to decide the winner. Or they could split the criteria into popular vote and judges’ choice. So for example, popular votes only account for 50% and the judges’ score account for the remaining 50%. Just some ideas.

So I was wondering… if you submit and don’t win the 10k prize, do you still have a chance of winning the ‘shirt of the day’? Cause I’d like to enter this contest but I’d also like to enter the regular one as well.

I want to play. this is going to be very exciting to see where my fellow critics will place my designs. thats a lot of money and the best designs should win. no matter who drew them. i wish everyone luck and the collaboration idea sounds like a winner, especially when you don’t have as much experience. which i don’t. thanks DBH for the opportunity to pay off some bills. lol

CollisionTheory’s print seemed to have been missing a screen, or in any case didn’t look like his submission because of a printing mishap.

Sure, it’s ten thousand dollars. But imagine the incredible works of art that would not have been produced if it were not for this contest. Isn’t that the real idea behind this site? Advancing the field of art, regardless how unconventional the medium may be?

By just entering your best work, you’ve won the contest. The ten thousand is just an added bonus to the lucky person. Think of it this way: if we had not been enticed with ten thousand dollars, would you really expect such a turnout of amazing designs as we had last year?

So I challenge you all: make your designs worth the ten thousand, but not for the ten thousand. Do not get lost in the race for riches, but rather get lost in the beauty of your work.
