Maybe try without the hand and the girl and butterflies totally on white (the white from the shirt) like a silhouette…. ?? Dont know….

thanks for the help. ill give it a try,
im trying to go for something a bit more than that though.

its meant to show

being in the hand of music and drifting into a better state of mind. but tbh i dont really want this to be REALLY obvious. thats why i added the abstract paint.

im guessing, it makes no sence ><

I like the first version more than the butterfly silhouette, are you using photoshop? you should set the butterfly layer/design layer to “Multiply” over the man, it will give you a more realistic idea of your design, as the white will be the actual tshirt colour etc. But good work so far!

I feel the butterflies stand out too much in the second version.
Maybe make the butterflies that light grey color you used in the background, this way they won’t stand out as much and they will blend in with the background.

Your texture behind is fine and the first butterfly position seemed better to me, the big one are too evident… I know, maybe you made them bigger because you felt empty in the bottom once the hand and girl removed but for me less is better. Once finished groupe everything in a folder of layers, than duplicate this folder (so you can come back to the first one), flatten you duplicated folder (so you get a unique layer) and than apply a multiply layer blend to it… the result over the white tee will be more realistic… Keep trying different things… and you will see for yourself…

It’s getting better and better. I like it.

But there’s something about that black pattern situated at one corner of the tee that I’m not really getting. The black pattern looks like a silhouette of a person though. Maybe you can somehow turn that black figure into a person with his right arm out and little black butterflies emerging from the silhouette of his hand.

The texture is clearer and nicer… the butterflies are more natural… now I guess it is a question of taste but concerning the concept you presented us I guess you pretty much got it…

WOW last one is great bluemonkey! I think it will also looks better at black t-shirt with different colors, otherwise it is also nice!

Yeah its looking pretty good now dude, maybe try a few different colour combos, like replace the purple with another colour, a simple way to get good colours is to open up the “Pantone: Solid Coated colour book” and select colours from there, sometimes I like to have a limited palette. Not sure where the colour book is in photoshop, but in illustrator its under “window” > “swatch library” > Colour book > Pantone solid coated…

I think thats correct, doing it from memory! too lazy to open up illustrator atm haha, good luck with your design!

what do people think?

It looks awesome! I think the starry effect that you did on the human figure gave it a little more depth which is really cool. It looks as though he’s floating on a cloud. lol.

I think now its looking AWESOME!!!!! Great work!

Wow that effect is pretty cool. I’m not sure which one I like the most, I liked the purple one as well. They both have different feels.

I really like the final one, i would hand so some bird silhouttes and explore the idea with birds instead of butterflies. Like it was a scene where he was setting them free, great execution though

honestly i like the 3rd to the last one, the one before you added the guy, i thought that was the best… but it’s still tough to get a guy to put on a shirt with butterflies… But chicks will dig it. Good designs

i like the 1st one elements.

i like the 2nd silhouette but they r too big.

i like the last technique but prefer more than one technique in one shirt.

Love the black version. Maybe bring some splatters/ splattery scrolls, or the such, real faint, like a discharge ink behind the figure and the butterflies. Just to tie all the elements together. Love the design!

nice, brilliant. i have butterflies inside my head sometimes hehehe

86368
said 6 months ago

The third effort was doing it for me. The butterflies merged well with the purple and the black splatter hinted at something to come. I think something needs to come from the area of the ‘splatter’ but not sure the figure is the right move unless your increase the figure size and make the figure out of splatter. Not sure if i’m making myself clear but good luck.
