New DBH Website Features!

This is cool, I like new features, :)

Wow, so cool hehe.. i thought it could be cool it there was a “watch” button on dbh, and here it came like a magic!
great job guys!

btw, i have a problem now with editing my messages.
when i click on the “edit” pencil button, it says: “The page you were looking for was not found on our site. Double-check the spelling and capitalization of the URL and try again.”
hope you take care of it, dbh. :)

Wow … New features look cool . our design page comments are put in different pages,very neat coz we dont hav to scroll down ..! FORUM looks super cool…

Also I noticed a little bug for the little thumbnails of “Design talk” on the forum
You should replace the current background-position like this ;)

I love the look of the forum, not digging the mutiple comment pages on the submissions, though. I think that’s more suited for the talk posts, and also, if someone posts a bigger view in his sub comments it laters gets lost in previous comment pages and there’s good chances most people won’t even look at it.

Anyway, not complaining, just my 2 cents, considering this site is community driven I figured you want feedback =)

Good suggestions. The programmers will be gauging the responses, so definitely we appreciate any feedback.

I really like the pagination because I surf while I’m uploading work files which kills my bandwidth. Pages load WAY faster now. I think againstbound has a good point though. Is there a way that the right section of the submission pages can have a “detail” button that links to a remote location IF the artist provides them? OR what if the “About the Artist” section is editable by the original submitter just like a forum post which would allow for the addition of an image link? That would give the artist the opportunity to react in a limited way to feedback. I know there’s been designs that I couldn’t really see in the regular image.

I can’t tell you how much easier on the eyes the regular forum page is now. It’s just so much more comfortable to read.

Right now I’m leaning towards that type of solution, but haven’t nailed down exactly what it should look like.

nice changes, especially the first one

One thing I noticed is that the comment page number buttons look a little odd; might just be me but I think that the selected page number button looks out of place just being bolded, I think it would look better if it was the same as the unselected page buttons but un-click-able and a solid black instead of the light grey.
Just a small thing, I hope you get what I mean.

Also the light grey text under the ‘Tee Talk’ and ‘Design Talk’ modules is almost unreadable to me… might just be my monitor though.

Annnnd I think the page number selection thing would work better at the bottom of all the posts or maybe one at the top and bottom, ’tis a bit annoying having read all the posts then having to scroll to the top to change to page.

So, what does it mean to “watch” an item?

What does that do? Will it give us email updates when something is reprinted? Do we get emails if someone replies to our comment?

Watching designs currently up for voting means you’ll get an email whenever someone comments on it; or presumably when it gets printed.

I just wish there was a way to un-watch something. Or if there is, for someone to point it out to me. I accidentally clicked watch on one design and I keep getting emails b/c of it. :P

You should allow More comments per page on the designs. It looks like only 10 or so comments are on a page so if a design is getting a lot of comments all of a sudden you have a huge number of pages. It makes it hard to read all of the comments if you discover a design after the comments have been pouring in. I’d suggest at least 25 comments per page.

So i have my profile set to email me whenever comments are made to designs I submitted. Since the redesign yesterday, I am now getting two emails for every comment. Discuss?

Yeah, we have new email logic for comments on designs & profiles, and for some reason we forgot to disable the old logic that was taking care of that. This should be fixed by the end of the day.

I don’t know if other people have this problem, but for some reason I keep thinking of the entire bar of a forum post as a link rather than just the title. I think it’s because the bar darkens on mouse-over. I like the mouse-over thing a lot, maybe it would work better if clicking anywhere in that area sent you to the post.

how do you “unwatch” something?

Click the little eye ball at the top of the post.

I was referring to a design up for voting that I’m “watching”. There’s no eyeball or way to “unwatch” it.

That feature is coming very soon.

where can i see the list of my watched posts/items?

I very much like the real time comment column about the DBH winners and submission candidates, and I find myself following a thread because of a kind comment or an interesting (if small) thumbnail. It also has the unintentional bonus of outting spammers, as it becomes apparent when the same name occupies all recents posts.

I like all new features, especially pages for comments but the option of view all (comments at one page) is not working :(

New features make me happy.
