My entry for Bright Futures

posted by slamgirl65 • 3 years ago

Here’s my entry for the Bright Futures contest. My last couple of entries on DBH didn’t please me as much as this one on a technical level, but I’m really happy with the way this turned out. I loved working with neon colors. It was an interesting challenge.

Great colors, great composition. It does seem a bit disconnected. By that, I mean the elements you’re using are not consistent with each other. The skull looks like vector and so does that woman’s face which is great. But a lot more detail and attention was given to the skull and the woman’s face seems less detailed. The splatter under the skull is photoreal, yet there this organic vector branch separating the skull and the woman’s face. Also seems a bit empty, maybe needs to have more fills to take up more space? Just my humble opinion. Good luck with the contest. I’ll be submitting to “Bright Future” too.
