Nagging Question.

I have a question that has been bugging the hell out of me.

I see so so many tshirt designs that have, or at least appear to have, so many colors and shades and gradients..

Is this an illusion?

How could it possibly be worth it to print shirts with a gigantic amount of colors?

For instance, there is two shirts in the gallery, “im watching you” and “play my muscial robot”

They seem to have alot of shades.

Do people even worry about screen printing anymore or is it all a different method?

Hi,

Both tees were screen printed and both are 8 colors. The artists are very skilled in using halftones to create shades and then blending those shades to make the illusion of more colors. Pretty cool.

Ya know, thats really what I figured.
I know the process, but havent really executed that many colors.
Any client I design a tshirt for is usually trying to keep the price, and there for amount of colors, down to a minimum.

It still amazes me everyday how much the design of tshirts is an art disipline onto itself.
