That’s pretty cool. How are people getting these really nice splatter effects?? Is that just in Photoshop or WHAT?

Went to Michael’s and bought some acrylic paint. and added some water. took a staw and sucked up a little and blew it out onto a piece of card stock paper. Scanned them in and converted them to brushes. I have them on deviantart. but not for commercial use.

Whooooa, super legit! I was wondering if you used actual paint or not; it looks so random and real.

yup, from there i took the smudge tool and randomized/scattered it using the paint brush to smudge it into that chaotic look there.

I need to find more social means of sharing this.

Do you have facebook? I give incentives for my fans to vote for my 1 shirt I subbed so far here. I probably generated a whole bunch of new members recently but hey they are my fans and they didn’t exactly discover me here! You can try tumblr too. If you make a link I’ll re-blog it which may help it reach more people. Going to vote now for you :) Good luck!

I reblogged your post, but if I were you I would have made a picture with link-through function so people can see what the shirt looks like and then click the pic to be able to vote for it. Here is the link to what I made as a promotion for my tee up for vote – http://coddesigns.tumblr.com/post/21212147358/hey-friends-this-is-my-first-design-submission-to this is generally how I set up my promotional strategy.
Oh and I reblogged your post so maybe some of my fans who now have accounts will add to your vote count :)

Ya that would make a lot of sense. Ill make a new one that is more like an ad. Thank you so much :P I dont really use tumblr or even have any followers I think.

I like the splatter effect. Thanks for sharing your technique. Oh and btw, facebook and twitter didn’t seem to generate votes for me either.

That is a much better tumblr post :) I have close to 2K fans but even with their support I think I was only able to get like 70 votes from them. It would be nice if all of them voted for me haha. Good luck to that I say! Anyway since I tumbled it the post wound up on my fan page. Hope it helps. here so you can see it -http://www.facebook.com/CoDdesigns

That is really awesome of you! I can’t believe you have so many fans. what are you known for? Just your shirts?

CoDDesigns CoDDesigns Artist from NJ, United States

It’s no problem. I like helping the community out as much as I can. I didn’t get to where I am without loads of help from fellow friendly artists.

My following has grown a lot recently. I think they mostly like my silly pun/pop-culture shirts that get printed at the daily 24 hour tee sites. I just got into the whole artsy style shirt and I think this is the step I need to take in order to get my brand going for the distant future. I have been so limited lately with my small rectangle limitations and color limits that when I found this site I got excited!

That’s fantastic. my flaw is I can not illustrate. I completely lack the ability to draw, which is seems people on this site especially love to see illustrations, but so does everyone.
