Get inspired with his DesignByHumans story as he talks about his boredom that create dollars and success. Carrying a mark as Studio8Worx, he is one of the well-known Filipino artists within DesignbyHumans community with six printed winning designs in a row. His Star_Dust just awarded as the “Shirt of the Month” for February.
Can you share your DBH story?
I was flipping through the pages of this magazine when I accidentally saw Collision Theory being featured as the first Filipino to win the DBH 10k grand prize. I was honestly impressed by his works and curiously visited the site (DBH) and a week after, decided to submit my artwork. Being a newbie then, It’s a given that you will have your share of bad comments and criticisms, plus the fact that you are pitted against other artists, some of whom has established themselves quite admirably within the site. But that did not break me, instead I made sure that those criticisms will be my driving force to improve my style.
How tough is the waiting period before you got printed?
My first print, Kid Robot, was printed roughly 4 months and 5 submissions after, if my memory serves me right. The waiting and anticipating whether your style will click or not is as tough as wooing the woman of your dreams, : ) LOL.
